We occasionally have openings for people who are passionate about clay and community and want to work with us as staff, instructors, or studio assistants at RCC or RCS. We encourage friendly, hard-working, problem-solving folks from all backgrounds to get in touch.

You don't need years of experience with clay, but it helps to love pottery or our fabulous community.

Ceramics ClASS Instructors

We look for friendly folks with a passion for teaching and community building. Instructors are ambassadors for creativity in the community. They play a vital role in opening doors of opportunity and holding space for people to share in a clay experience.

Teaching experience is preferred but not required. We look for instructors with enthusiasm and great communication skills! studio technical assistant

The studio technical assistant works with the studio manager to keep the infrastructure, equipment, and systems of the studio in good working order. Studio assistants are an integral part of our RCC team, playing an important role in setting and maintaining the culture and values of our community. The Studio Tech is responsible for the following : 

  • Maintaining the RCC studio and classroom facilities, infrastructure and systems including but not limited to supply inventory, mixing glazes, reclaiming waste clay, cleaning tools and equipment, and keeping the studio organized.

  • Prepare and transition the studio and provide support for classes, workshops, and events.

  • Maintain kiln firing schedule, load and unload kilns.

  • Maintain workflow systems to track and organize student work.

  • Cleaning or ensuring that the studio is clean.

  • Maintaining studio equipment and systems such as the pottery wheels, kiln, waste-water system, and working with the owner/ manager to bring in expert assistance as needed.

  • Answering questions about studio use, tools, materials, and equipment for students and members. Reminding students and members of cleaning and safety protocol as well as studio standards.

  • Other tasks as requested

A great candidate for the Studio Tech will have some or all of the following qualifications:

  • Some experience with the ceramic arts including glaze mixing, loading, firing, and troubleshooting equipment issues, ceramic materials knowledge – formal education is a plus

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Warm, friendly, and accessible affect

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Flexible schedule
