Soda Firing 3-13-26

This will be our 29th Kiln Firing. Follow along with the firing as I update this page on the hour.

Kiln Log:

I will log at the top of the hour here what the temperature, gas, damper, and notes about the firing.

7:30pm - 46ºF, KILN START TIME - South pilots/ burner lit.

9:00pm - 491ºF Top/ 140ºF bottom - South burner at 0.5 gas, damper 2”, air low

8:00am - 1243ºF/ 969ºF - South burner at 1 gas, damper 2”, air medium. North burner at 0.5 gas, air low. (There is snow this morning and another little hassel with the solinoid. Now they are both fully disonnected and should not interfere).

9:00am - 1427ºF/ 1192ºF - South burner at 1.5 gas, damper 2.5”, air medium. North burner at 1 gas, air low. Dax got here and we are monitoring the kiln.

11:00am - 1651ºF/ 1532ºF - Both burners a 2 gas, damper 2.5”, air medium.

1:00pm - 1777ºF/ 1669ºF - Both burners a 2.5 gas, damper 2.5”, air medium.

2:00pm - 1894ºF/ 1801ºF - Both burners a 2.5 gas, damper 2.5”, air high

3:00pm - 1973ºF/ 1901ºF - Both burners a 3 gas, damper 3”, air high

4:00pm - 2039ºF/ 1984ºF - Both burners a 3 gas, damper 3.5”, air high

5:00pm - 2118ºF/ 2071ºF - Both burners a 3 gas, damper 3.5”, air high
